Fundamentals of the Faith

Thirteen lessons blend basic biblical truths with personal obedience and service. Many young believers take these classes to grow in their understanding of biblical truths.

With topics ranging from the character of God to church participation, it’s an ideal study for discipling new believers or returning to the basics of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Lesson 1 - Introduction to the Bible    

In this lesson we will learn about how we got the Bible. We will talk about the different ways that God has chosen to reveal Himself to mankind, how He has inspired His word to be written through men, how He has preserved His word from corruption and how we arrived at the English translation we use today. We will also do an overview of the Old and New Testament to see how God has moved throughout history to speak to His people.

Lesson 2 - How to Know The Bible

In this lesson we are going to look at five disciplines every Christian needs to incorporate into their life in order to know the Bible better along with looking at some very key principles of Bible study to make sure we are getting the correct meaning of the passage. This lesson also takes a look into the Bible study principle of hermeneutics, specifically the gramatico-historical method. We then take time to apply the principles we've learned by practicing exegeting scripture together.

Lesson 3 - God: His Character and Attributes

In this lesson we explore some of the central attributes of God as He has revealed Himself in scripture. Do you know the difference between God's righteousness and His justice? What event in God's interaction with mankind best displays the attributes of justice and love? How does God's sovereingty affect your paryer life? These along with many other questions help to bring life to how God interacts with His creation. Along with the study of God's attributes we also focus in on how these attributes harmonize with one another. God's nature is harmonious and none of His attributes are contradictory.
